Because of Corona ... Samsung provides phone delivery service to the homes of its users
The South Korean company Samsung announced the provision of a smart phone delivery service to its customers to test new products, as the company canceled promotional events due to the spread of the Corona virus, and this could lead to weakening sales through physical stores.
According to the Arab Portal for Technical News, analysts expected that the Corona virus will reduce the demand for smart phones by half in the first quarter in China, the largest market for devices in the world.
And Apple warned that it was unlikely to achieve the sales target set just three weeks ago, while Xiaomi was forced to broadcast its smart phone launch event last week only via the Internet because of travel restrictions and large gatherings nationwide.
Samsung unveiled a new foldable smartphone along with several models of the Galaxy S20 in the past week.
The company is working to reduce sales through physical stores, as it decided to sharply reduce the number of pilot areas in stores, in addition to canceling promotional events related to the latest devices due to concerns about the spread of Corona.
There will be only nine pilot areas of the Galaxy S20 series, compared to 130 Galaxy Note 10 regions, according to the company’s website.
Samsung customers who want to try one of the Galaxy S20 series devices can receive it in front of their homes, and it can be used for up to 24 hours, and the device will receive the delivery agent after that.
"We are providing a new service because the problems related to the Corona virus can lead to a less time experience in the store," said one of the company employees, adding that the service is expected to be available only in some parts of South Korea.
